Graduate Students are encouraged to explore their personal style and develop a body of work based on a variety of methods and processes they have developed for expressing their concepts in ceramics and mixed media.

As a class, we research Ceramics in art history, explore materials and processes, travel for exhibitions, symposiums, conferences and to investigate nature.

We meet for large critique sessions twice a semester and use technology to share work in progress via Facebook and e-mail.

Students are encouraged to act as professionals in developing an electronic presence, exhibition record and resume.

The Graduate program at FHSU has over 20 students working towards a Masters of Fine Arts.  8 of those students are focusing on Ceramics.  3 students share the MFA ceramics studio and 5 are working off campus in the low-residency program.  Several others are focusing on other areas of art and take the Ceramics class to learn additional apporeaches to materials, processes, professionalism and concept builing.

Brianne Fulton completed her degree in the summer of 2010 and teaches Ceramics at Crowder College in Missouri.  Her work focuses on the figurine in the context of female desire.
